Our own Dr. White was in San Diego recently and had a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit and train with some of America's finest, the Navy SEALS. While he was in town for an ophthalmology conference Dr. White trained at Crossfit San Diego with their local athletes, including one of the SEALS. Crossfit San Diego is owned by Eddie and Lisa Lugo, and Lisa put Dr. White through the ringer!

“It was one of the best work-outs in my life. Lisa introduced me to a couple of new exercises, and it was all I could do to keep up with their regulars!

Eddie and his partner Andy Stump, both active duty SEALS, then hosted Dr. White for a visit and tour of the SEAL training base at Coronado. “I was able to see a new SEAL class during their indoctrination. Andy and Eddie took me over to the SEAL obstacle course and I also got to see the training pool where Andy will put the phase 2 class through their paces. What an honor it was to meet and spend time with these men. Gentlemen, patriots, guardians of our freedom, and athletic monsters! Thankfully I couldn’t stay to join them in THEIR work-out.

The next day it was off the Ramona, California and the Brand X Crossfit gym for a work-out with owner Jeff Martin. That’s Jeff with Dr.White just after they finished the Saturday morning partner work-out at Brand X. “Jeff and I came in second in the team competition for the work-out. We were smoked by Jeff’s teenage sons, but I was happy I contribute to the team. Right after that a picture was snapped by Jeff’s wife Mikki I fell right over and lay there for 5 minutes-making “sweat angles” on the floor! “Jeff and Mikki run the Crossfit Kids program and their gym is well-known for its family atmosphere.

Crossfit is a revolutionary fitness movement founded by Greg and Lauren Glassman, headquartered in Santa Cruz, CA. The Glassman’s post an enormous amount of free fitness information, including a daily Crossfit work-out, at www.crossfit.com. Crossfit has been Dr. White’s sole fitness program since January 2006. All of us here at Skyvision Centers have noticed how healthy and energetic Dr. White has been since he discovered Crossift, and we thank the Glassman’s for taking such good care of our Doctor! Tune in, maybe we’ll have some other Skyvision Crossfitters to brag about in another “What’s New"!
